I know this is old news, but it still has me like D=

On the one hand, it's great that readers can involve themselves in the world they love and get paid for it. Heck, if I got paid for my HSM fanfics... =D

But on the other hand, I feel unsure about somebody crafting a world and then letting civilians mess about with it. Of course people do that anyway on fanfiction.net, but changing the licensing to make it OFFICIAL that the author is ALLOWING it... =/

I suppose, ultimately, as long as the author's okay with it, and as long as it's not me, then whatever. It doesn't involve me, so blah.

Thoughts?

  1. I think it happens more than you think. Lot's of programs and movies are from idea's of others. (not all of them) I know you can send idea's and sell them? I think it kind of sad that the person behind this all gets not much appreciation or lets admit, almost nothing. I adore reading fanfiction and I think is somebody want to buy it, you could feel honoured because it's good, but the owner of the official fanfiction should get more credits in my opinion. ^-^

ps: would love to read your fanfiction :D

    1. Yeahhh, I can believe that. I heard a craaazzzzyyy story once about a man in Russia who wrote a book virtually identical to Harry Potter, and naturally he was sued by J K Rowling. I don't even know if that is a real story, but I'm always shocked that a person doesn't at least use their imagination to make a new story. Ahh, that's true too. It's such a complicated affair (e_e)

HAHAHA oh maaan, really! No, seriously, they're terrible (O_O)
I have fictions that were inspired by fanfictions on separate blogs, being rewritten as I go along - this one about a girl gang that end up with superpowers is HERE, another one inspired by Battle Royal is HERE, and my oooooooold old HSM fanfictions are HERE but please don't read that one *laughing* actually, I've removed the link XD They are too shamefully embarrassing.
